Stacy Fitzwater

Great Minds Schools Success Lead

Stacy began her career in education as a music teacher, with the goal of inspiring musicianship in young students as her own teachers had done for her. She quickly discovered, however, that music could be one of many entry points to learning about so much more—history, art, math, and science. After earning a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, Stacy transitioned to the general classroom where she spent over 14 years teaching students in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade in New York, Maryland, Arizona, and Washington, DC.

After discovering a passion for facilitating adult learning, Stacy accepted the role of a teacher coach and school administrator. She later served as a professional development facilitator and implementation leader, supporting teachers and school leaders across the country in their journey to implement high-quality curriculum.

Away from the computer, Stacy enjoys living in the beautiful Arizona desert. You’ll often find her running, hiking, cycling, or playing frisbee with her dog, Cheyenne. Stacy can’t wait to continue engaging in exceptional learning and professional development alongside our students, families, and teachers.
