Sarah Randles

Interim Head of School

Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in general and special education and holds a master of science in educational leadership. She has spent the last 10 years at Montgomery County Public Schools, where she served as an instructional coach focused on mathematics and academic intervention. She has taught grades 2–5 and has extensive experience in leading for equity, educator professional development, and serving diverse communities. Sarah has taken on many projects at the district level, such as curriculum writing and countywide professional development. She also helped lead the implementation of high-quality math curriculum in her district.

Sarah is excited to be joining the Great Minds Virtual team, where she can feed her passion for working with both educators and students at the intersection of technology and learning. She leads with creativity and innovation, with the goal of providing equitable educational experiences for all students. 

Sarah has a background in theater (both on stage and backstage) and spent more than 10 years directing children’s summer musical theater for ages 5–15. She currently lives just outside Washington, D.C., but will be relocating soon to upstate New York with her fiancé, Brett, and two cats, Moira and Tekla.
