Education is a personal focus and passion for Peter. At VCU Arts, Peter has taught first-year students through seniors from a variety of creative majors. Peter’s core philosophy of teaching is fostering the prosperity of the next generation, advancing the possibilities of design thinking, and creative leadership.

Peter is a frequent public speaker, recently at Creative Mornings RVA, and has been a guest lecturer at Syracuse University, The Art Institute of Atlanta, and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. As a fine artist, Peter works in a variety of media, and has been an exhibiting artist at 1708 Gallery’s InLight (2015, 2017) and participated in the Monster Drawing Rally (2016–2018, 2021).

Peter is an outdoor enthusiast and spends much of his free time on big terrain mountain biking, rock climbing, and alpine hiking. He and his wife Sally have three adventurous children and live on a small farm in Hanover County, VA.
