David Whitman

David Whitman, Mutual Rescue’s executive producer, is renewably energized by nature, the arts, and his basenji companions. As a youth, he spent a transformative year in Europe with A.F.S. Intercultural Programs, graduated from U.C. Berkeley, and joined the Peace Corps in the Eastern Caribbean. After managing Berkeley’s Hertz Concert Hall for many years, Whitman expanded his arts-related work to Brazil and Florida before returning to California to coordinate an international multimedia exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci. From there, he went on to design and direct Silicon Valley’s annual Tech Awards galas, establish an Indigenous-arts project, and co-create Mutual Rescue.
